The following contains spoilers for today’s Flickle.
A black & white graded shot of a group of prisoners being released from their cells. Still in the prison, a man (Avery Brooks) is let in to see someone who appears to be a doctor. Now in colour, a woman (Jennifer Lien), man with shaved head (Edward Furlong), and child sit together in a living room. Back to black & white, the same man as previous shot appears in close-up looking at a group of people all with shaved heads, his narration ‘…sent Derek to the kids, the frustrated ones, the ones who were sick of getting their asses kicked…’ A group plays basketball while a man (Edward Norton) heckles from the sidelines – ‘come on, Curtis!’ In colour again, the same man looks at himself in a bathroom mirror – he has a large swastika tattooed on the left side of his chest.
