Framed #237 (03/11/2022) – What Was It?

The following contains spoilers for today’s Framed.

A horse stands in the distance of a shadowy space filled with plants, bordered by rock. A series of buildings scale up the side of a hill, a similar beige to the rock surrounding, at the base orange and black flags. A ringed hand touches the face of a marble sculpt – the sculpt being a bearded man’s face. The same man as was touching the face now seen from the front (Joaquin Phoenix) – he is dressed in crown and jewelry, inspecting someone just off-screen as he holds his thumb up. Two men stand in a coliseum surrounded by soldiers with large rectangular shields. One of the men (Russell Crowe), now in close-up, stands with arms outstretched shouting while an audience looks on behind him.
